Consider it moved to my list of things that do not suck.
Actually, I like it very much. Growing up as a kid (and in the south) one of my favorite moments was sitting on the porch sipping iced tea and watching the summer rain. Lil bit cliche? Maybe but true.
I love the rain. Always have always will. Idk why, but for whatever reason it has the power to make me deliriously happy. Rain in NY however, is not so fun and possibly even toxic. Still dance in it anyways.
One of my first acts as a New Yorker was to invest in some breathtakingly chic and quality rain gear. I tried a few different brands, only to continuously wind up walking about with a broken umbrella and frizzy bangs. Nottt a good look on anyone.
Enter: Hunter. Super chic umbrellas, jackets, and boots that are comfortable, durable and classically styled. They’ve obviously got this rain gear thing down.
I may or may not have binged on their Core Rain boots. They come in every color you can think of and I have like half. I basically only wear black, but the pastel colors were just too pretty to resist. And the umbrellas… they’ve literally saved lives. In NYC the streets are so packed that everyone is poking each other in the eye, but these cup your entire body keeping you safe and chic (hashtag ONEthousand)
So if I’ve taught you nothing, I leave you with this.
Buy decent rain gear. You deserve it. You need it. Your adult self will thank you.
Happy puddle playing
